Franklin

Ambassador portal to register electricity and gas supplies at retail locations

What is Franklin

Franklin is the Octopus Energy Spain ambassador portal for registering electricity and gas supplies at retail locations.

Franklin is a web application available at https://oees-franklin.com/ designed for sales staff in shopping centres and partner stores. Ambassadors use it to register customers who sign up for energy with Octopus Energy Spain in person.

What is it for?

  • Register electricity and gas supplies on behalf of the customer
  • Capture holder details and supply point information
  • Select the tariff and formalise the contract in store
  • Onboard customers without needing internal tools like CHABI

Franklin vs other tools

  • CHABI is the internal Octopus team portal; Franklin is designed for external ambassadors at retail locations.
  • Octopanel is the end-customer panel for tracking installations; Franklin is the sales and supply registration tool.
  • OctoAmigos is the referral programme for existing customers; Franklin covers in-store registration at retail.

Franklin is available in Spanish and English. Access it from your browser at the point of sale with the credentials provided by Octopus Energy.

Register a supply

Franklin's main flow: registering a customer with electricity and/or gas supply from the point of sale.

Once inside the portal, start a new registration and complete each step with the customer present. Review the details before confirming: an error in the CUPS or holder details can delay the sign-up.

Before you start, ask the customer for

  • ID card or NIE of the contract holder
  • Recent electricity or gas bill (to obtain the CUPS)
  • IBAN for direct debit
  • Email address and contact phone number
  1. Start a new registration

From the main panel, click the option to create a new supply sign-up. Select whether the customer is signing up for electricity, gas, or both.

  2. Holder details

Enter the contract holder's name, surname, ID document, email, and phone number. Verify they match the ID card or NIE.

  3. Supply point details

Enter the CUPS (supply point code) and property address. You can obtain the CUPS from the customer's current bill.

  4. Tariff and product selection

Choose the appropriate electricity and/or gas tariff according to the campaign or point-of-sale agreement. Explain the terms to the customer before continuing.

  5. Payment details

Enter the IBAN for direct debit. Confirm with the customer that the account is correct.

  6. Confirmation

Review the contract summary with the customer and confirm the sign-up. Inform the customer of next steps: email confirmation and supply activation timelines.

Working in store

Best practices for using Franklin in shopping centres and partner retail locations.

Franklin is designed to be used with the customer present, in environments such as Fnac stores or other shopping centres. These recommendations help you complete sign-ups efficiently and securely.

Recommendations at the point of sale

  • Have a recent customer bill ready before opening Franklin; the CUPS is the detail that takes the most time.
  • Explain to the customer what data you will register and why Octopus Energy needs it.
  • Use a stable connection: if the store WiFi fails, try mobile data as a backup.
  • Do not share your Franklin password with colleagues; each ambassador has their own account.
  • If the customer is unsure, offer time to review the bill or check with someone at home before confirming.

Privacy and customer data

Treat customer personal data confidentially. Do not photograph documents unnecessarily and log out of Franklin if you step away from the device.

If something goes wrong during sign-up

  • Save progress if the application allows it, or note down the data already entered.
  • Check the internet connection and reload the page.
  • If the error persists, contact [email protected] with the point of sale and when the error occurred.
